Editorial gets the facts right

It was therefore like a breath of fresh air for the Newsday editorial of May 28 to point out that two things were factually incorrect about the statement made by Opposition Leader Dr Keith Rowley at PNM’s Sports and Family Day.

It stated that in the first place, the letter to Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar was not written by the Integrity Commission’s chairman, Justice Zainool Hosein and, secondly, the letter that was in fact sent to the commission on May 19 did not list Hosein on its letterhead.

I hope all three newspapers would report the facts so we are better informed as a population, which would then lead to better decision-making based on facts.
