Villa kick out ‘El Do’ in UWI football

DEFENDING league champions Aston Villa have kicked El Dorado out of this year’s UWI Employees Super Football League knockout series.

The champs edged the El Do men 2-1 on Saturday last, on goals by Anslem Coa and Garvin Edwards.  Allan Thomas got the lone goal for the beaten team. Crab Connection kept in contention for the double crown when they blasted East West Coaching School 4-0. Irvin Truman scored a double, while national striker Warren Butler and Marlon Warner got one goal each for the Crabs. Lowly First Division squad Augustown surprised Premier Division team Falcon Crest 4-1 with Michael Waldron, Nikhi Dolly, Anthony Wilson and Cordell Samuel scored the goals for the winners, while Royston Chartles got the lone goal for the losers.

In Over-40 Division action, TSTT whipped Ambassadors 3-1 with Anthony Alexander, Ricki Carralis and Newton Jones doing the goalscoring.  Kenneth Fomosa replied. But the Ambassadors returned on Sunday to edge UWI 3-2 with Keston Morris, Joseph Nelson and Ambrose Thomas scoring. Rudy Demas and Pablo Peters scored for the University men.
