Exchange take central cricket crown
EXCHANGE Sports are the Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board of Control Central Zone Division One champions.
They achieved the feat with still one match to complete against Milton, in which they need just 79 runs in 51 overs for victory. On Sunday, Exchange scored a 10-wicket victory over Spoliers at their Couva ground, to total an unassailable 158 points. Kevin Narine took four wickets for 21 runs and Edwin Lakhan, two for 32, to rout Spoilers for 96 in their first innings. Exchange replied with 221 of which Mohan Mano scored 68 and Ashmeer Backreedee, 30. Trailing by 125 on first innings, Spoilers managed 141, with Kissoon Rampersad getting 29. And Exchange got to the winning target without loss. Exchange will now defend their Ramsingh Sports World Sunday League title against league runners-up Brickfield on Indian Arrival Day, May 30, in the final to be played at Brickfield Ground.
