Mitchell hits 134 in Petrotrin U-15 cricket

KEVON MITCHELL of San Fernando East Junior Secondary School scored the first century of the Petrotrin/NSL ‘Brain Cooler’ cricket festival. Mitchell was in impressive form getting an unbeaten 134 against Esmeralda, in  San Fernando East  score of 230 in 25 overs. Esmeralda made a brave reply but fell for 176, to lose by 64 runs. Easiest win of the round went to Anand Electrical who defeated Petrotrin B by nine wickets. Petrotrin B were routed for 34 with Keron Malchan taking three wickets for four runs, and Anand Electrical reached 36 for one wicket. Anand’s Electrical have been enjoying good success in the league from opening day when they took the march past parade title. There was also a five-over knockout tournament played at Guaracara Park, Pointe-a-Pierre, with Anand Electrical winning the title. They easily defeated San Fernando East in the final after the Pleasantville boys managed only 28 runs total in their five overs. Anand’s Electrical replied with 29 for three wickets.
