Hebron stay ahead in Full Gospel football

HEBRON stayed on course to cop the 2003 Full Gospel Churches Football League crown after they whipped Christian Printers Curepe Amen 2-0 at UWI Grounds, St Augustine last weekend. Amen bombarded the Hebron defence with a series of attacks in the first half, but failed to find the mark. Those errors would later haunt the Curepe lads in the second stanza, with Jude Rogers and Marius Pascall scoring for Hebron, who remain unbeaten after eight rounds of play.

The resurgent Deliverance Ministries (DM) Lyons climbed to second spot courtesy a 5-0 win over the bottom-placed DOXA at the Aranguez Savannah. Sherwin Fortune registered a hat-trick for Lyons with Richard Rigaud and Collin Selvon notching one apiece. Rhema also remained within touching distance of the leaders with a 9-0 demolition of Shekinah Worship Centre at the Macoya Recreation Ground, with Cion Valcin slamming five goals, while brother Robert, Lovell Sterling, David Gildin and Sean Peltea got one apiece.

Other Results: At Queen’s Park Savannah - WOODBROOK AIC (4) vs BETHEL (4); At Northerns Recreation Ground - GRANDE PRAISES (4) vs DESTINY WARRIORS (1); At Aranguez Savannah - AME BALLPLAYERS (2) vs GEMS (2), GRANDE PRAISES (5) vs WOODBROOK (0).
