Tobago schools in big clash today

DEFENDING CHAMPS Scarborough and arch-rivals Signal Hill will meet in a top-of-a-table clash in the Tobago Zone of the British Gas Secondary Schools Football League (SSFL) today.

The teams will face off at the Signal Hill grounds from 3.45 pm. Scarborough have been successful in their three matches so far while Signal Hill are two points adrift, even though they lead the zone in goals scored — 17. Signal Hill were the traditional princes of Tobago schools football until they were dethroned by Scarborough in 2001. And the result of today’s clash will go a long way in determining who will walk away with this year’s zonal crown. On the other side of the coin, the bottom-placed teams Roxborough and Bishop’s will clash in the day’s other fixture at the Roxborough Grounds.
