Jabloteh face struggling ‘Stallions’ today
TT PRO League leaders CL Financial San Juan Jabloteh can continue their football dominance of both the senior and Under-20 divisions when 19th round action takes place today.
Jabloteh will square off against the struggling “Stallions” Caledonia AIA at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, Mucurapo in a double-header from 5 pm, with their senior league clash beginning two hours later. The defending league champions hold a commanding ten-point lead over W Connection and are virtually guaranteed another win versus a Caledonia outfit that has looked a shadow of their former selves. The “Stallions” are fourth in the Under-20 table on 29 points, 14 behind the runaway leaders Jabloteh who have been in dominant form of late. W Connection are in second spot on both standings, and also have an easy task at home to Tobago United at the Ato Boldon Stadium, Couva from 5 pm in another double-header.
The Tobagonians defeated South West Institute of Football (SWIF) 1-0 in both Under-20 and senior matches on Sunday last, but will have an Herculean task in overcoming the Connection team that has proven to be one of the teams to beat this year. At the Sangre Grande Recreation Ground, North East Stars will host Joe Public while Arima Fire will oppose the consistent South Starworld Strikers at the Larry Gomes Stadium, Malabar, Arima. Both matches will kick off at 2 pm while the Defence Force-SWIF doubleheader will start at 5 pm.
