Croisee f/ball final at St Mary’s
THE KNOCK-OUT final between Strugglers and Simple Touch will bring the curtains down today on the Croisee Supermarket-sponsored St Mary’s Foot-ball Committee competition.
Action gets going from 9 am at the St Mary’s Recreation Ground, McBean with the Under-16 final preceding the KO Championship carded for 1.30 pm said Gregory Forde, chairman of the committee yesterday.
He said the CSM competition is the only minor league in central Trinidad which has been running successfully for the past three years. “This year we have been fortunate to have secured a $20,000 sponsorship from Croisee Supermarket which has kept the interest going for another season,” said Forde. He also expressed his appreciation to People’s National Movement (PNM) Senator Satish Ramroop who has also donated $5,000 in trophies for the outstanding teams and players. Ramroop is expected to be present today for the closing ceremony and prize distribution function. Mention was also made by Forde of the contribution of Ramlogan Sports who have also made a generous donation to ensure the competition is a success.
