Top women’s hockey official for TT visit

GABRIELLE van Dorn, Development Manager of the International Hockey Federation (FIH), will pay a visit to Trinidad from today until Friday (October 10). During her stay, van Dorn will conduct development workshops with members of the Trinidad and Tobago Hockey Board (TTHB) as well as officials from Bar-bados, Guyana and the Nether-land Antilles. Tuesday and Wednesday will see workshops conducted for the National Associations at the Halyconia Inn, Cascade while a programme will be staged for club participants at the Media Room, Hasely Crawford Sta-dium, Mucurapo on Thursday from 1 pm. A native of Holland, van Dorn was a regional coach of the Dutch Under-17 girls team and has been a youth hockey coach in South Africa, Malaysia, Australia and the United States. The graduate of the Physical Education Academy of Am-sterdam, Holland with post graduate honours in psychology, van Dorn has travelled extensively as a FIH official, including Australia, Canada, Chile, Egypt, Uganda, Brazil and Argentina as well as designing and managing the Global Youth Hockey Marathon, Hockey’s International Year of the Youth 2001 and the FIH Club Development Project.
