Samba Xtra Malt swamp Maloney 11-0
JGS MALONEY Two Touch could not keep in step and were mauled 11-0 by Samba Xtra Malt East San Juan United, when action in the Eastern Football Association for the Arthur “Jap” Brown Memorial Trophy continued. And except for some miracle, the EFA will crown a new champion this season, as title holders WASA Clean and White were shut out 2-0 by Joe Public to leave them floundering, 17 points adrift of leaders San Juan United.
TSTT stopped the bull rush of Hearty Foods Bulls, when Marvin Lee netted a hat-trick of goals to beat them 3-0 at the Arima Municipal Stadium. Kerwin Patrick had a hat-trick, Wendell Isaac, Allan Sorzano and Ricky Abdul two goals each and Kurt Cudjoe and Dexter Joslyn added one apiece for the Samba men to drum out Maloney Two Touch at Aranguez Savannah. Joe Public, the “Eastern Lions” got goals from Marc Leslie and Chevon Noreiga at Squadron Ground, Arouca, to kill off WASA’s slim hopes. But last season’s runners-up Carib FC slipped into second position on the standings the easy way, when they were awarded full points as East/West Coaching School failed to turn up for their match at St Augustine ground also on Sunday. Meanwhile, League Cup action kick off today from 4.15 pm with a five-match schedule. Crab Connection and The Bulls meet in a mouth-watering match-up at Arima Municipal Stadium, while WASA Clean and White take on TSTT at Valsayn and Carib face Delta Glass Young Hearts at St Augustine Senior Comprehensive ground. Other matches: East/West Coaching School vs Police at Five Rivers, Arouca; BM Spurs vs Samba Xtra Malt East San Juan United at Aranguez Savannah.
