Celebration Time, ‘Punto’ head handicaps

CELEBRATION TIME and Punto A Punto were handed topweight  of 56.5 kilos in  the two handicap races on the Arima Race Club Day 32 programme at Santa Rosa Park, Arima, on Saturday.

Celebration Time will tote his weight in the West Indian-bred three-year-olds and over race for runners which have not scored three victories to date, while Punto A Punto was handed his burden in the 1750 metres Restricted Handicap framed for West Indiand-bred three-year-olds and over winners and importations of the same age groups. The Royal Oak Derby runner-up Celebration Time,  will have seven rivals in the extended 1350 metres sprint worth $19,000. This Freshly Squeezed/Finders Wish offspring which is conditioned by history-making triple crown-winning trainer Glenn Mendezis being asked by handicappers Wayne Shockness and Robin Jaisingh to hand out a minimum of  two kilos to  Punto A Punto and a maximum 10.5 kilos to trainer John O’Brien’s pair Fresh Mandate and Bound To Dot Com. And Punto A Punto will have nine rival runners in his event which carries a total purse of $21,000. In this staying race, the roan grey horse from trainer Douglas Bennett’s barn, will be giving away from one kilo to Maid Of Honour and two kilos to speedy Tactical Bid, to  12 kilos to Maracas Bay at the bottomn of the handicap with  44.5 kilos.
