Mucurapo start n-ball defence

MUCURAPO Senior Comprehensive and their sister Mucurapo Junior Secondary will begin defence of their titles in the British Gas Secondary Schools Netball League today.

The league will begin action following an opening ceremony at the Jean Pierre Complex, Mucurapo at 10.30 am, which will include special greetings to ex-national coach, Trinidad and Tobago Netball Association secretary and American Federation of Netball Associations president Lystra Lewis. The young netballers will also hear messages from BG TT public affairs manager Lenore Joseph; Auldyth Bravo, Physical Education Sports Officer III and Secondary Schools Netball Association president Catherine Sandy. More than 45 schools are expected to participate in five zones —- North, Central, East, South East and South West. Central Zone action gets underway on Friday, when Cunupia High School meet Couva Junior Secondary and Miracle Ministries Pentecostal take on Carapichaima Senior Comprehensive from 1 pm. The East and South East teams begin competition on Monday from 1 pm.
