BETHEL booked a place in tomorrow’s quarter-finals of the Excel/Christian Printers Full Gospel Churches Football League with a 4-0 victory over Destiny Warriors at the Larry Gomes Training Field, Malabar, Arima. Bethel won the two-leg confrontation by a 9-5 aggregate scoreline and will face Genesis in the first leg of the quarters at the Queen’s Park Savannah. Deliverance Ministries (DM) Lyons also progressed to the final eight after a 3-0 win over Woodbrook and will square off against Curepe Amen at the Macoya Recreation Ground also tomorrow.
After thrashing Dominion (DOXA) 13-1 in the first leg, Amen made certain of a quarter-final spot with a 3-0 second-leg win. Grande Praises, needing only a draw with AME Ballplayers to advance to the quarters following their 8-4 first leg win, shut out their rivals 3-0 in their second leg fixture 3-0. Now the Grande lads will oppose Rhema at the Aranguez Savannah, San Juan. And league kings Hebron who had a first round bye, are expected to meet Shekinah Worship Centre at the UWI Grounds, St Augustine.
