Seven rival ‘The Student’ in Bookmakers WITRA Classic

SIX locally-bred and one Jamaican will dare to challenge Triple Crown winner Top Of The Class in Saturday’s Bookmakers Association of Trinidad and Tobago West Indies Thoroughbred Racing Association Classic at Santa Rosa Park, Arima.

And The Student will be handing out two kilos to Jamaican-bred Royal Red and local filly Golden Honour in the 2000 metres race worth a total of $120,000 which will be the spotlight event on Bookmakers Day. On the gallops yesterday, Kaser’s Gold who is entered in the 1100 metres optional claimer on the turf, sizzled over 600 metres in 35.8 seconds. But the best gallop over this trip came from Indian Decision who goes for the Bob’s Racing Service (San Juan) event over 1750 metres. Working together with Underdinfluence, the pair was timed in 35.2 seconds for the morning sprint. Nobleman who is entered for the $75,000 Stud Farm Association Breeders’ Stakes over 1200 metres, ambled over 800 metres in 59.9 seconds.
