‘Tigers,’ Arima in Big 5 finale

THE “Westmoorings Tigers” St Anthony’s will be looking to retain their British Gas Secondary Schools Football League (SSFL) Big 5 (league) crown when they oppose the unbeaten “Dial Dynamos” Arima at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, Mucurapo from 4 pm today.

The Tigers needed kicks from the penalty spot to defeat Signal Hill in Monday’s semifinal at the Mucurapo venue while Arima edged Naparima 1-0 at the Larry Gomes Stadium, Arima on Tuesday last. Leading the attack for St Anthony’s are utility player Kevon Neaves and Abiola Sandy, with support from midfielders Clevon George, Christian Cabral and Troy Thompson. Arima, on the other hand, have been rewarded with consistent scoring from the strike trio of Gorean Highley, Dorian Daniel and Devon King. The Tigers have only won the Big 5 title once, during their sensational 2002 season, while Arima are yet to win a national crown.
