Flour Mills blow out Edinburgh 500 b-ballers

NORTH Zone basketball champions National Flour Mills blew out Edinburgh 500 Hawks 82-62, when action in the revitalised National Basketball Championship continued at the Central Indoor Sports Facility in Chaguanas.

Vibert Dean had 18 points and six assists in Saturday’s match, while Ashkley “Dr Dunk” Bynoe added 17 and pulled down 10 rebounds.  Ronald Guischard contributed 14 points to the champions’ total. NFM led by just two points at the end of the first quarter 19-17, but fell behind 29-32 at the half-time interval. But the Royal Extra title holders outscored their Chaguanas rivals 26-14 to regain the lead at the end of the third period 55-46.And NFM continued to pour it on in the final stanza in which they had another lopsided 27-16 advantage for the final score. Marvin Celestine was best for the Hawks with 18 points and two rebounds, while Khary Alexis hit 10 points and grabbed 12 rebounds.  He also blocked three shots.
