Look for quick-stepping Fast Company

FAST COMPANY stepped very briskly over 600 metres at Santa Rosa Park, Arima, yesterday, and showed he was ready for his chosen event on Saturday’s 10-race programme. The maiden literally ate up the track to complete the run in a swift 23.9 seconds out of the starting gates. And Cotonou also fired a bullet workout over the same trip in 36.5 seconds while Bonus Point seemed to be rounding into his best form with a good run in 37.4 seconds. But the gallop which opened eyes was that of imported two-year-old Daredevil Hero who skipped over 400 metres in 23.8 seconds. This one is another to be pencilled in for the 1100 metres race for imported “babes.” This American-bred dark bay colt will match strides with seven rivals including Fabulous Risk, Florida Fame, Senor Gucci, Ooze, Tazumi, Soul Asylum and Fromnowuntil for the $21,000 purse. And The Hero (56.5 kilos) will have to give away weight all around except to Fabulous Risk and Florida Fame.  Senor Gucci will be in receipt of one kilo, while bottom weight Fromnowuntil will be getting eight kilos.
