Man held with cocaine in mouth
A PENAL man was arrested yesterday morning, when police discovered a quantity of cocaine wrapped in foil paper hidden in his mouth. The man was charged with possession of cocaine late yesterday evening and will appear before a Siparia magistrate today.
According to police reports, around 11 am a team of Penal police officers were on mobile patrol along Penal Rock Road, when they spotted the suspect walking along the road. On seeing the police vehicle, the man quickly placed something shiny in his mouth and started walking away. This action raised the officers’ suspicions and they stopped the suspect and asked him what he had just placed in his mouth. When the man started shaking his head, the officers demanded that he open his mouth. When he refused to do so, the officers forced open his mouth and recovered several foil packets which contained the illegal drugs. He was arrested and taken to the Penal Police Station where he was charged.
