Work For Nothing blazes ’em
ALL its efforts on the track was clearly profitable for Work For Nothing as it cruised over 800 metres in 54 seconds flat at yesterday morning’s gallops at the Santa Rosa Park, Arima. The horses were put through their paces on a soggy track under blazing sunshine as they prepare for Day 35 of the Arima Race Club 2003 season. The other horse to cover the distance was Once In A Lifetime, who returned a disappointing time of 59.3 seconds. Notanothernoble was the most successful over 600 metres, clocking 36.4 seconds with namesake Nobleman completing the gallop in 37 flat. A number of prominent horses also tested the tough conditions at Arima, with Joan Of Arc and Super Grey each timed in 44.9 while, in the 1,000 metre stage, Man Of Class trotted home in 1:13.8 seconds and Cash Wager 1:14.7. Phantom Menace, Punto A Punto and Song Of Freedom did not fully extend themselves over 400 metres. A time of 29.5 seconds was recorded by Phantom Menace while Punto A Punto and Song Of Freedom each sped past the line in 29.9.
