Samuel is PYM Cricketer of Year
KEVON SAMUEL of Success/ Laventille captured the Cricketer of the Year award at the 2003 prize-distribution ceremony of the Progressive Youth Movement (PYM) Cricket League on Saturday last at the Aranguez Government School. Other four Cricketers of the Year were Keon Issac, Darren Legall, Marlon Barcley and Javid Boodram. Sameer Mohammed was the highest scorer of runs in the series, while Natalian Hoyte grabbed the most wickets. Both received special awards.
Winner of the league Mison EYM received their first prize of $500, a challenge trophy and a replica. Progressive Sport were voted the best disciplined team, while Barataria Ball Players won the most improved team award. Prominent attorney Israel Khan delivered the feature address and praised PYM president Bissoon Birsingh for the great work his organisation is doing in grooming the youths of the area.
