Notanothernoble steps lively at gallops

HORSES continued to step lively at Santa Rosa Park, Arima, as they get ready for Saturday’s Arima Race Club Day 35 programme.

Carnival Messiah, the triple crown winner of two years ago showed he will be no walkover in Saturday’s feature Stakes and Lower event over 1300 metres when he was timed in 23.9 seconds for a 400 metres dash. But Phantom Bidder who will go into the race with the light impost of 47b kilos, was slightly better over the same trip completed in 23.1 seconds. Notanothernoble had the best clocking over the 400 metres distance, and set turfites thinking with a 22 seconds clocking, while DutchessTrembley who also holds the engagement in the Restricted Handicap over 1350 metres, stepped over the trip in 29.1 seconds very handily.

New Star also flashed some speed in a 600 metres run completed in 35.8 seconds.  Tricky Guy, entered in the WI-Bred two-year-old winners and four-year-old and over non-winner of four races, galloped together with Twice The Jet over 600 metres and returned a good 35.8 seconds for the run on the wet/fast track, made so by overnight rains. Also turning in good gallops yesterday were Bonus Point who went over 400 metres in 24.5 seconds, Gray Warrior timed in 24 seconds flat, Seductive who went over 1000 metres in 1:03.9 seconds and Lady Rossie who went over 800 metres in 48 seconds flat. Meanwhile, Top Of The Class continues to scare owners and trainers with horses entered  to oppose him in the Caribbean Champion Stakes with a very effortless spin over 1000 metres in 1:01.3 seconds.
