House of Dread set pace in Curepe

HOUSE OF Dread earned their third victory in as many maches as the 2003 Curepe Football League continued at the Knowles Street Recreation Grounds, Curepe.

The league leaders edged arch-rivals Curepe Progressive 4-3 on Sunday last, on the heels of their 1-0 triumph over August Town and their 4-3 win over San Juan/San Juan. Also on Sunday, San Juan/San Juan were in a ruthless mood against August Town, thrashing their opponents 7-2. A double-header was played at the Curepe venue on November 8, with Shocking Vibes squeezing past El Tucuche 3-2 while Paradise had a default victory over Central Touring.

Organisers of the competition are also sending a reminder to teams that, due to the early sunset at this time of the year, matches will begin promptly at 4 pm or else delinquent teams will lose the respective match by default. In related news, eight teams are due to participate in a day-long Under-13 tournament on November 30 while tomorrow will see four squads — Curepe All Stars Old Boys, Edinburgh 500, Drinking Team and Top Cops — competing in an Over-35 contest from 2 pm.
