Naps, Arima clash again

NAPARIMA and Arima will meet for the second time in this season,  this time in the RBTT National Intercol quarter-finals.

Both the SSFL and Intercol South and East zonal champs will face off at the Manny Ramjohn Stadium, Marabella, from 4 pm today. Naps needed kicks from the penalty spot to defeat the Green Machine of  St Augustine 3-1 in the preliminary round phase on Thursday last after the score at regulation and extra-time was all square 2-2, while Arima, the Dial Dynamos have been inactive since defeating the Green Machine 2-1 to lift the East Zone Intercol trophy.

The Southern power-house will pin their hopes on the shoulders of strikers Kern Robertson, Brenton De Leon and Aaron Downing, as well as midfielders Kezi Lara and Ancil Farrier. Arima will rely on (as usual) the strike trio of Gorean “Mickey Rat” Highley, Dorian Daniel and Devon King. Winner of today’s match will travel to the sister isle to oppose Tobago giants Signal Hill in Friday’s semifinal at the Dwight Yorke Stadium, Bacolet.
