Signal Hill, Arima showdown
SIGNAL HILL and Arima will face each other at the Dwight Yorke Stadium, Bacolet, Tobago, today for a chance to meet defending champs St Anthony’s in the RBTT National InterCol final. Today’s semi-final clash will kick off at 4 pm. Luck favoured the Tobago giants in the draw, as they have only entered the national InterCol competition at this semi-final stage, while Arima, in their quarter-final encounter, defeated Naparima 2-1 in sudden-death extra-time on Tuesday last.
The Tobagonians under ex-Trinidad and Tobago coach Bertille St Clair, have benefited from consistent play by captain Keon Daniel, co-midfielder Kino Proctor as well as strikers Jason Lightbourne and Massimba George. Forwards Gorean “Mickey Rat” Highley and Dorian Daniel have been Arima’s “go-to guys” for most of the season, and the “Dial Dynamos”, under second-year coach Kerry Jamerson, will rely on this duo to lead them on to a “revenge” clash in Thursday’s final with the “Westmoorings Tigers” St Anthony’s. When the teams met in the Big 5 final, The Tigers edged Arima 2-1 with a “golden goal”.
