ICC, WI seek security manager

LONDON: The International Cricket Council is seeking to appoint an ICC Security Manager for England and the West Indies. The successful candidate will be based in England or the West Indies and will be responsible for anti-corruption activities within these territories. They will liaise with law enforcement and security organisations together with government agencies, cricket authorities, teams and officials. The role entails extensive travel throughout the region carrying out liaison work; informing and briefing key constituents including delivering education programmes to players and officials; attending matches to ensure the relevant anti-corruption measures are implemented; and assisting in investigations.

The International Cricket Council is the global governing body for the sport. Part of the organisation’s remit covers the eradication and prevention of corruption within the game and these activities are carried out by the Anti-Corruption and Security Unit. The Unit has a team of five security managers covering the major cricket playing areas and the current vacancy has arisen due to the departure of Bob Smalley, a founder member of the Unit, who will leave the post on December 31.
