Lara in home-made video drama

West Indies cricket captain Brian Lara could soon find his name dragged into a legal battle surrounding a home-made video tape.
It was reported in yesterday’s Nation newspaper in Barbados that Lara’s former lover, Lynssey Ward, was consulting her legal adviser about the home-made movie which she says they filmed together. The story was first published in the People Newspaper in London and suggested that the gifted left-handed batsman not only a master of strokes on the field, but off the field as well. Lara and Ward met when the model was a receptionist at the Durham County Cricket Club. Their relationship was well-documented by the international media.

The blonde was first spotted with the former double world record holder during a West Indies tour to Australia. She later spent months in the Caribbean, but their togetherness ended, the paper alleged, when the couple was involved in a fracas at the Prince’s mansion just outside of Port-of-Spain. She desperately wanted the footage as she feared it could be used on the Internet or viewed by a third party. She said at the time the video was being made she thought nothing of it, but now she found it far from funny. She noted it would be hugely embarrassing if it were viewed by millions around the world.
