AKS policeman shoots self in knee

A POLICEMAN attached to the elite Anti-Kidnapping Squad (AKS) remains warded in stable condition after accidentally shooting himself in the knee on Saturday.

According to reports, sometime on Saturday morning, Police Constable Luther Walker, 34, took out his service revolver from its holster to put into a bag, as he was about to enter a car in the San Fernando district. However, he accidentally discharged the gun while placing it in the bag and was shot in the knee. Walker slumped to the ground and was taken to the San Fernando General Hospital where he was treated and admitted to Ward 4. San Fernando police are investigating.
