Commissioner: Police will win the war against crime
Members of the Police Service were faced with many challenges within the past year as a result of the escalating crime situation. The Acting Police Commissioner, Everald Snaggs, made the comments at a luncheon held yesterday for members of the media at police headquarters. According to Snaggs, “It is the Police Service who deals directly with crime and despite certain media reports, we will continue to do so. “We will not compromise our activities in attacking crime.” The members of the media were treated to traditional Christmas foods, and enjoyed the company of some of the senior members of the Police Service.
Journalists were also commended by the police commissioner for their continued support and service to the society. Also invited to the gathering was a Beetham Gardens mother who has three children involved in the police youth club. A donation was presented to the mother as officers spread the Christmas joy. Nola Wilson thanked the Police Service for their contribution and said the assistance would help brighten their holidays.
