Two missing at sea

A Coast Guard officer and a fisherman have been reported missing at sea in the Carenage area in separate incidents. In the first instance, an able-bodied seaman identified only as Higgins is reported to have been bathing with Michelle Durham, Gary Wilson and Myolca Prudhomme at All Ranch Base, Chaguaramas on December 14 at around 1.40 pm, when they left him in  the water, went ashore and returned 20 minutes later to find him missing. Several persons were  interviewed. Two days later at around 4 pm, fisherman Michael Greene, 30, aka “Sanction” left his Haig Street, Carenage home with friends and went fishing near the Venezuelan mainland.

The others returned next morning minus Greene. Relatives of “Sanction” made a missing person report to the Carenage Police Station. Attempts to interview the man who could provide information concerning the whereabouts of “Sanction” have been futile as he has reportedly gone into hiding. Police believe Sanction’s disappearance could be drug-related. Sgt Joefield is investigating the disappearances.
