Two shot, one robbed as bandits storm Christmas get together
TWO persons were shot and a Curepe home-owner robbed by bandits who stormed a small Christmas get together. According to reports around 8.45 pm on Wednesday Anand Beharry and friends were at his Broome Street, Curepe home when two armed, masked men entered and demanded the keys to a car (B 15) parked outside. When the people did not respond, the bandits demanded Beharry’s keys to his $160,000 Mitsubishi Lancer motorcar which he handed to them.
As the men were leaving they fired several shots one hitting Dane Lalla in his right ankle, while Devika Hanoman was shot in her buttocks. They were both rushed to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital where they were operated on and the bullet removed. At press time they were listed as satisfactory. Visiting the scene were Ag Inspector Michael Modeste, Constables Williams and Kingston. Williams is investigating.
