Tunapuna woman shot in her back

A Tunapuna woman is now resting comfortably at the Port -of-Spain General Hospital after being shot in her back. According to information around 7 pm on Christmas Eve Anna Mendhe, 40,  was walking her 11-year-old son along Maingot Road, Tunapuna, when she heard a loud noise and felt a burning sensation in her back. She grabbed her son and ran to a nearby relative’s home with blood oozing down her back. The woman was rushed to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital where she underwent surgery. She has since been transferred to the  Eric Willaims Medical Complex. When contacted, police told Newsday they have information and expect an arrest soon. Visiting the scene were Ag Inspector Modeste and Constable Stephenson. Const Stephenson is investigating.
