Bandit beaten unconscious

An 18-year-old bandit is now warded at the Port-of-Spain General Hospital under police guard in excruciating pain after being beaten by an enraged Arima man.

But the retaliation by the victim had nothing to do with the robbery, but  the bandit’s making advances to the Arima man’s wife. According to information around 9.30 pm on Friday  Ainsley Woodsley, 55 and his wife Helen Vidale James, 53 were at their #55 Marie Street, Arima home watching television when two men  walked in, one armed with a homemade shotgun and announced a hold-up. The men proceeded to rob the couple of an undisclosed sum of cash and jewelry.

Not satisfied with their act, the gunman then proceeded to pull at James’ dress. This infuriated Woodsley who yanked the gun from the teen and proceeded to beat him into unconsciousness, while his colleague sped off. The police were called in, seized the gun and arrested the Pinto Road, Arima teen who was rushed to the Arima District Hospital and later transferred to the PoSGH with several bruises and internal injuries where he is listed in a stable condition.
