Laventille man shot in the leg

A 25-year-old man is nursing gunshot wounds to the leg following a shooting incident in Laventille on Saturday night. Reports state that Kevin Charles of Laventille Road, East Dry River, was shot at about 11pm while in Straker Village, Laventille. Charles told police that he heard several loud explosions and then felt a burning sensation in his left calf. Charles, who said he did not see the gunman, was rushed to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital, where he remains warded in a stable condition. Investigating officers are yet to determine a motive for the shooting. Constable Boney of the Besson Street Police Station is continuing investigations.
