Sam fires double in Wrexham win

LONDON: Trinidad and Tobago striker Hector Sam grabbed a double, when Wrexham recorded their third straight league success with a whirlwind first-half performance that simply blew away visitors Blackpool 4-2 yesterday Sam added his double in the 33rd and 44th minutes, after Chris Llewellyn scored his first goal at the Racecourse after 15 minutes with a rising shot that gave keeper Lee Jones no chance.

His second then arrived for the striker just six minutes later when he tapped home at the back post.  The Seasiders replied through top-scorer Scott Taylor on 23 minutes. With two minutes of injury-time played at the end of the first period, defender Mike Flynn reduced the arrears with a header which gave his side hope.  However, there was no further scoring in the second period as Wrexham closed the game down and made sure of the points.  Two other Trinidadians, Dennis “Tallest” Lawrence and Carlos Edwards featured in the Wrexham victory.
