Jewellers offer $5,000 reward for bandits
The management of Vault Jewellers store in Scarborough, Tobago, is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the capture and conviction of those responsible for robbing the store of an estimated $500,000 worth of jewelry items in a daring hold-up on Tuesday morning.
The contact phone number is 639-2515 at the Scarborough CID, a management representative disclosed yesterday. Asked for an exact figure of losses, the store official said they were still in the process of assessing this. “I don’t know where people get those figures. Everybody putting their own figure,” he said. Vault Jewellers, located uptown, was held-up around 10.30 am by two unmasked, knife-wielding men who tied up the proprietor and emptied the display showcases of jewelry items before escaping on foot. Insp Hubert Sharpe of Scarborough CID is investigating.
