Jabloteh, Connection eye winning start to year

CL FINANCIAL San Juan Jabloteh and W Connection will be looking to continue their superiority over the eight remaining teams in the T&T Pro League when Round 32 action takes place today.

Jabloteh will square off against eighth-placed Arima Fire at the Ato Boldon Stadium, Couva while, also at 4 pm, Connection will meet the inconsistent “Eastern Lions” Joe Public at the Marvin Lee Stadium, Tunapuna. Jabloteh have 77 points from 30 matches, and a ten-point lead over Connection who have a match in hand. But the pressure will be on Connection to dispose of the youthful Lions and maintain pressure on the runaway leaders.

The Savonetta lads have not been in good form lately, but will look towards the ever-improving striker Jason Marcano and defender Kenwyne Jones, as well as veteran goalkeeper Alejandro Figueroa and captain Reynold Carrington to carry the bulk of the load. North East Stars, out of the reckoning for the Pro League crown, will host Defence Force at 4 pm while, an hour later, in an all-South affair, South Starworld Strikers face off against South West Institute of Football (SWIF) at the Palo Seco Recreation Grounds. And three Under-20 matches, preceding the senior fixtures, will be played today, at Sangre Grande, Palo Seco and Tunapuna.
