Balmain Utd get $20,000 sponsorship
BALMAIN United Cricket Club received a $20,000 sponsorship package from Super Industrial Services Limited (SIS) of Rivulet Road, California. SIS public relations officer Einool Jimmy Hosein, in confirming his company’s sponsorship said: “We believe in investing in youth development as this is one of the most certain ways of ensuring that the country would make the progress that it is capable of making.” Balmain United is one of 24 clubs competing in the Super League Series in the Central Zone of the Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board, and according to league chairman Patrick Rampersad, “You have a tremendous history behind you over the past 75 years, and we open our doors to you because we are convinced that you could make a worthwhile contribution to the game.”
Misri Lutchmedial who has captained the club for the past 10 years pioneered the sponsorship deal. Hosein promised Balmain United SIS would continue their sponsorship provided they perform at a satisfactory level during the 2004 cricket season. He said SIS had always been involved in community outreach work primarily in sports and culture, especially in the Central region. “And we have grown from strength to strength and we believe in human development and what a better way to do it than through sports. “The partnership with Balmain United further strengthens and widens our involvement in the community in which we operate,” Hosein said. Also addressing the gathering, Charles Branche an advisor to Sports Minister Roger Boynes, said Balmain United owed SIS a heavy responsibility to conduct themselves on and off the field in an exemplary way to encourage others to join the band of business firms and organisation willing to offer sponsorships to other clubs in the country.
