Man loses hand

The right hand of a 23-year-old Longdenville man was severed in a chopping incident at his home on Friday.

Reports revealed that around 8 am, Julien Maloney was at his home when he had an altercation with three men he knew. During the altercation, Julien’s right hand was chopped off. The bleeding man was rushed to the Chaguanas Health Centre and his severed hand was placed on ice. Julien was transferred to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital where attempts were made to have the severed hand re-attached. Ag Sgt Ajith Persad, Cpl Aguilerra and PC Langley of the Chaguanas CID visited the scene and carried out enquiries.

Meanwhile, at around 7 pm on Thursday, Nicholas John of Chrissie Terrace, Enterprise, was standing close to his home when he had an argument with three men. They stabbed him about the body and then fled the scene. John alerted a passerby who took him to the Chaguanas Health Centre. He was transferred to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital where he was treated and warded in serious condition. And also on Thursday, at about 7 pm, Stefon Tyson, 20, of Enterprise was at Goodwill Road, Enterprise, when he was confronted by a man wearing a ski-mask. Tyson had an argument with the man who shot him in the right leg. He was rushed to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital where he was treated and warded.
