Soca in Moka — no disappointment

Soca In Moka was one of the first big all inclusive fetes for the year and the annual “jam” did not disappoint.

Hundreds of fete lovers flocked to Trinity Grounds in Maraval from as early as 4 pm with the most prominent person being His Excellency President George Maxwell Richards along with his wife Jean. Also in the large crowd was San Fernando Mayor Ian Atherly, and Minister of National Security Martin Joseph.

The President and his wife advanced into the crowd for a little jump up when leading Road March contender, Shadow came on stage to perform. The first couple also collected cocoyea to wave as Shadow did one of his top songs for this year “Cocoyea.” Our photographer Gary Cardinez was on spot to capture the president and his wife in the dance.
