Central cops recover gun after shootout
Officers of the Chaguanas CID recovered a .38 revolver with two rounds of ammunition and seized three spent shells following the search for two bandits at Palmiste on Sunday afternoon.
Reports revealed that around 5.20 pm, a party of officers led by Inspector Raphael, Ag Sgt Persad and including PCs Harvey and Harriet, were on patrol in Palmiste in search of two gunmen when they saw two suspects in bushes. The officers called on the men to stop but they started firing at the police and escaped. Officers recovered a .38 revolver with two live rounds and three spent shells. Warrants were issued for the arrest of the two suspects who are wanted for several reports of robberies in Carlsen Field.
