The plight of a PTSC passenger
THE EDITOR: It is with great disgust and stress that I am writing this letter to address the problems experienced by passengers travelling on the Chaguanas/Port-of-Spain route on the Public Transport Service Cooperation (PTSC) buses.
On mornings after the 6.15 am bus leaves we are forced to wait for more than one hour most times in the burning hot sun or in the pouring rain. I always have to say thank the Lord for Courts Trinidad Ltd, that we can get some form of shelter when needed. As an avid passenger of the PTSC buses, I really think that they should give more consideration to us as we are made to suffer too much. You cannot leave your house on a morning after 7 am and expect to reach Port of-Spain before 8.30 am definitely not with the kind of service that is being offered to us.
On afternoons at City Gate we are faced with the same dilemma. We are hungry, we are tired, we have to get home to our children to help them with home lesson, get something for dinner for them to eat but no, we have to stand in long, long lines for hours waiting on this bus before going home. Oh God, somebody in authority have pity on us Chaguanas travellers, we are paying money for our tickets too, yuh know. Minister of Transport think about what your people in Trinidad and Tobago need before you think about what the USA wants. We should come first, and right now we need some more buses like yesterday. Help, help the Chaguanas PTSC faithfuls!
