Man, 45, faces sex charges with girl, 12

BAIL WAS denied to a 45-year-old La Brea man who appeared before Point Fortin Magistrate Maria Busby on Tuesday charged with having sex with a 12-year-old girl. PC Mahabir of the La Brea police held the accused after making investigations into a report made by the girl’s family. The alleged incident occurred on Saturday at the girl’s home. Police prosecutor Cpl Geoffrey raised an objection to bail since it was not known whether the accused had any previous or pending convictions. Magistrate Busby Earle Caddle ordered a tracing of the accused’s criminal records and adjourned the case to tomorrow.
