Something controversial

THE EDITOR: I have a strong feeling that after reading about Cro Cro’s calypso contribution at the Calypso Review Tent which is named ‘Face Reality’ that it came about when he and his cohorts went into a bar and decided — after a lot of grog — to come up with this controversial ‘tune’.. Dey say: ‘let we come up wit something controversial, nah?’ Den it was “what about de kidnapping ting?’ ‘Yeh man, leh we sing someting about kidnapping ...” And then it went on from there...

When are we ever going to learn? Does Cro Cro feel for the poor wife who died soon after her husband was kidnapped and dropped off like a dead dog on Morne Coco Road? If Cro Cro has a problem with corruption in Trinidad, let him take it to the courts. That is the way to go. I just want to say to the media including the radio stations and population that this calypso should be banned and shunned by all. I also think that the Calypso Revue should strike him off of their list of performers. I also want to say to Cro Cro — I am sure that if any one of your family members or friends were kidnapped you would not be singing your happy song. You need a reality check ‘bredder.’
