My fears about the Police Service
THE EDITOR: I believe that every citizen should be aware of their rights as far as the law is concerned. We are quick to say that we do not look for trouble, but believe me, sometimes the men in uniform that are supposed to protect and serve us, brings trouble upon us. Who is responsible for the things they mash up in your home, your chairs they cut up, your doors they kick down, the things they steal, the psychological effect on your young children, etc.? Why does a police officer wear a mask? How come their uniforms are found in some raids? Do they rent them, sell them, or lease them to their bandit friends and collect their proceeds after, or are they really stolen?
I believe the Commissioner of Police should be a man who has decided to do what is just and right in the sight of God, who will do everything in his powers to ensure that officers stay as clean as when they were enlisted, but then some of them might never own a car, have a television in each of their rooms, wear heavy gold, or maintain their women. What pains me is that they are free to beat and kill our children and our husbands, curse anywhere they want, lie in Court and kill, and they get away with it. Are they not supposed to be an example for us? Where are their superiors? I guess some of them are too busy fighting for promotion, receiving new appliances, groceries, jewelry, clothing etc, and collecting their part of the bribes, that they don’t care.
I hope I never have an altercation again with the law because quite frankly, I am afraid of them and what they can do and get away with. What frustrates me, however, is that everybody seems to think what the police do should be condoned because it is the law and nobody seems to care and takes everything lightly, no wonder they can do what they want. I have God to protect me and I can go to Him for justice, so I steer clear of these showoff, trigger happy bunch of people, and I urge you to do the same. I feel sorry and I pray for the men and women who have chosen a life of crime and banditry, and can only hope that when and if they are arrested, that they are not severely beaten, (because the doctors at our hospitals are not in a hurry to tell the truth about the wounds prisoners receive or to save their lives), never forced to sign statements without an
Attorney present, charged for things they know nothing about or charged for stuff that was planted on them. I believe there are a few good men and women in the Police Service, but I believe the majority is a bunch of bad seeds, who desperately need psychological help and the presence of God in their sorry lives. So I am urging young men and women to turn to God and trust Him, there is much more to life than having these officers in your face, doing you whatever they want because they know they are going to get away with it, teaching you to hate and making you want to rip them apart. That is how I felt when they planted marijuana on my brother. Thank God he knew about the power of prayer and had a good Attorney. Blessings!
