2 men shot in Laventille
Two men are fighting for their lives at the Port-of-Spain General Hospital after they were shot while liming in the Laventille area on Tuesday night. According to reports, Miguel Jack, 30, and his nephew Clint Jack, 19, were at Straker Village, Picton in Laventille, when they were approached by three men. Two of the men had guns, while the third was unarmed. The men are said to have opened fire on Jack and his nephew.
The elder Jack was struck in the abdomen, left armpit and right hip. Clint Jack was shot in the left leg and abdomen. Both men were rushed to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital. Checks with hospital officials yesterday revealed Miguel Jack was in a critical condition while his nephew was said to be in a stable condition. Police have yet to determine a motive for the shooting. Inspector Martinez of the Besson Street Police Station is investigating.
