Be a living example of goodness
THE EDITOR: Please permit these few pearls of wisdom to be boldly published in your widely read newspaper. In the race of rising insecurities and criminal tendencies that seem to possess our fellow citizens, there seems to be no easy solution but, in fact, there’s a way out of our daily distress (mental, physical and emotional).
Let’s begin by asking the question: “As a parent, teacher, student, leader/ruler, child; what is my functional role?”
• If a teacher; I should educate in such a manner as to encourage an appreciation for the things learnt.
• If a parent; I should guide and nurture my children in such a way as to prepare them to face and overcome challenges they need to overcome, in a dignified manner.
• If a child or student; I should be obedient to authority that seeks to nurture and encourage me on Life’s Rainbow.
• If a leader; I must myself become a servant of impeccable renown and be attentive to the urgent needs of my subjects, even as standing in the stead of our Creator God.
Crime can only produce more crime but continuous examples of goodness (caring, nurturing, forgiving, loving) will act as a weeding tool against criminal tendencies. Be an exemplar of Good!
