Biblical explanations

THE EDITOR: As I saw the sad faces of Aneeshar Rangoo’s family and relatives at her funeral, the apparent helplessness of humans, when it comes to decisions people make in the privacy of their thoughts however misguided these decisions might be, came forcibly to me. As we look forward to this New Year, I would like us to reflect again on biblical references to this violent tendency in man. The Heart of Man: Jeremiah 17: 9,11 — “The heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked, who can know it” “I the Lord search the heart, I try the reins even to give every man according to his ways and according to the fruit of his doings.”

Psalm 7:11 - “God judgeth the righteous and is angry with the wicked every day”
Proverbs 27:20 - “Hell and destruction are never full so the eyes of man are never satisfied”
Certainty of Judgement
Psalm 9:16 - “The Lord is known by his judgement which he executeth. The wicked is snared in the work of his own hands”
Matthew 5:22 - “But I(Jesus) say unto you that whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgement and whoever shall say ‘Thou fool’ shall be in danger of hell fire.”
John 5: 28,29 - “Marvel not at this for the hour is coming in which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice. And shall come forth, they that have done good unto the resurrection of life and they that have done evil unto the resurrection of damnation.”
Rev 20:12 - “And I saw the dead, small and great stand before God and the books were opened and another book was opened which is the book of life and the deed were judged out of those things which were written in the books according to their works.”
Source of Cleansing
1 John 1:9 - “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
11 Corinthians Ch 5:17 - “If any man be in Christ he is a new creature, old things are passed away all things become new. I trust that these scriptures would remind us of the serious nature of our problem and that we continue to unite in prayer for our country.”
