Mucurapo Senior put title on line

DEFENDING British Gas Secondary Schools Netball League princesses Mucurapo Senior Comprehensive will put their title on the line today, when they meet sister-school Mucurapo Junior Secondary in this year’s final. The teams are scheduled to match skills at the Woodbrook Youth Facility from 2 pm. Both teams played through the preliminary rounds unbeaten, with “Junior Sec” scoring 133 goals and allowing 88 in Group “A”, while “Senior Comp” who completed their schedule on Wednesday with a crushing 44-7 victory over San Fernando East Junior Secondary, allowing a stingy 37 goals in their five games while scoring 154 themselves.

In Wednesday’s game, national under-17 goal-shoot Afeisha Noel had 32 goals from 45 attempts and Akeisha Mark 15 of 22 for Mucurapo, while Ramona Noel scored five and Nika Fiddler two for the Southerners. And Success/Laventille finished off their Group “A” schedule with a close 13-8 win over Cedros Composite to be third in the group, with Tenisha Price scoring eight goals and Ghaaliya O’Brien getting five for the winners.  Karen Phillip five, Marissa George two and Giselle Noel one scored for Cedros. Toco Composite trounced Holy Faith Convent (Couva) 28-13 to take the runners-up spot in Group “A,” with Ronalda Lovelace scoring 16 goals of 26 attempts and Trecey Courtney 12 of 23.  Andrea Kinsale had 11 goals and Kevern Hunte two for the convent girls.
