Panday must go

THE EDITOR: The United National Congress will never be successful again at the polls in any election unless they rid themselves of their biggest liability Basdeo Panday. Therefore, although Mr Panday has served the UNC very well, he must be replaced immediately.

My personal choice is the former Central Bank Governor, because, here is a man who is not confrontational and he walks “the middle of the road,” so that he can win the support of the undecided who most probably number more than the hardcore UNC supporters. Revisit his speech made at Rio Claro during the last General Election. I know that Mr Panday is wily and with a lot of guile and that he is a master politician. The UNC can use his experience as an advisor — but I will repeat that because Mr Panday is sullied by the accusations made against him the UNC must lose him.
