Diego hold off Mucurapo 73-68

LED by 25 points from Sadiki Guerra, Diego Martin Secondary proved to be too much for Mucurapo Senior in their North Zone Trinidad and Tobago Schools Basketball Association encounter at the St Paul Street Multi-Purpose Facility. The Diego students walked away from the court winners by a 73-68 margin in the Under-20 group encounter. Guerra received valuable support from Jesse McBarrow, who delivered 19 points, and 12 from Makesi Lewis while Kensley Sandy had a game-high 27 for Mucurapo, including six three-pointers, and Christian John 12.

In another U-20 fixture, Morvant/Laventille cruised to a 90-44 demolition of Excel Composite, with Anthony Husbands pumping 25 points with further contributions from Dylaun Skeete 20, Matthew Cupid 17 and Kyle Bourne 11. Marcus Allert netted 19 in a losing cause for Excel. Morvant/Laventille’s U-17 outfit were also in winners’ row recently, inflicting a 65-51 beating on St Mary’s College courtesy 25 points from Bourne and ten from Kirton Legerton, while Javon Edwards had 20 for the CIC team.
